How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I was recommended by a friend who also purchased her dress with you and we also both attended each other’s weddings.

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

From the moment I arrived at the boutique Naydene and her team completely put me at my ease. I was very apprehensive as this was a second time around for me and I was also self conscious about my weight. Trying on different dresses was really good fun and I didn’t feel uneasy at all. The boutique had such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and Naydene was so helpful and supportive.

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown.

I spotted the dress on display on one of the models. I was instantly drawn to it and absolutely loved the style and exquisite long and very dramatic train! I felt it suited my shape and just felt like “the one” as soon as I tried it on. It’s true what they say and I did get that special bridal feeling.

How did you meet?  Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

Iain and I met on a dating site! A few weeks of chatting and we met for a drink, I honestly fell in love with him the first time we met. He proposed to me after 3 years, it was in our Summerhouse in our back garden. He came in with a bottle of Prosecco, 2 glasses and got down on one knee with a ring.  I never thought I would ever be this lucky, he’s my best friend and soul mate.

What was your inspiration for your wedding?  Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

We both love the movie Braveheart so we had the traditional hand fasting within our ceremony and thistles within our flowers and wedding cake.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

We just loved the location and the intimacy of the Castle, it’s a very special place and has beautiful grounds. There are many stunning areas inside too so even if it had been raining all day, we’d still be able to have some stunning background photos.

What was the most memorable moment?

It would have to be the ceremony. It was a humanist ceremony so it was very relaxed, personal and intimate with our friends and family.  I was shaking like a leaf walking down the isle but as soon as I stood opposite Iain I felt better! We had their owl ring delivery too, her name is Bonnie and it was a lovely surprise for the guests who had no idea she would be swooping down above them holding our rings in her claws!
