Wedding of Carla and Reece

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

Through one of my mums’ clients, her daughter got her wedding dress from yourselves.

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

The whole experience from start to finish was like a dream, the boutique itself is gorgeous, I was blown away with the layout and the vast options of dresses. On top of that, the staff are fantastic, they are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and made myself and my family feel comfortable from the second we came through the door.

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

I was unsure of what I exactly wanted, as what I had previously thought I wanted, I tried on in another bridal shop and hated it. So I was a bit lost when arriving, Ines took great care of me and advised me to have a look around and turn the dresses that caught my eye on the hanger and we could try them on, we started with 5, I tried on 2 dresses before I tried my dress on and as soon as I put it on I felt the most comfortable I had in any dress, before I had even seen it, when I walked out and seen myself in the mirror I literally gasped! I felt beautiful, I didn’t pick a fault at myself, my body, or the dress. I just knew there and then it was perfect. (And completely opposite to the plain, satin dress I thought I had always wanted) the details blew me away.

How did you meet?  Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

I have known Reece for almost 12 years now, we met through social media as we had mutual friends and spoke on and off for 8 of those years, until we finally went on our first date, and since then we have been inseparable. Regarding the proposal, we were meant to be going to Iceland for a few days break, but Reece mentioned us postponing it and maybe just having a city break to Glasgow, as I had always wanted to go to Blythswood Square hotel and spa, and I didn’t think anything off it, and agreed. So, we went a day later than originally planned, again I didn’t think anything of it, we walked into the room and there was balloons, flowers, petals all over, I turned around and there he was on one knee with the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen. The whole time we smiled and laughed it was beautiful, just me and my best friend together. Turns out the delay and change of venue was because the ring wasn’t going to be ready in time!

What was your inspiration for your wedding?

We wanted a very simple and timeless theme, we went for black white and greenery and we absolutely loved it!

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

Both Reece and I had separately fallen in love with the venue before we were even together, I loved the outside courtyard with the large windows and Reece had attended a family wedding there years prior and fell in love with it. So it was a no brainer we didn’t even view any other venues, we booked a viewing of Eskmills and we knew there and then that was the one.

What was the most memorable moment?

Walking into the venue and seeing Reece standing at the bottom of the aisle, crying his wee eyes out with the biggest smile I have ever seen.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

Enjoy every second of it, try on things you’d never think of trying because like me, it might just be exactly what you wanted without even knowing!
