Wedding of Jennifer and Iain
How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?
I had started to follow Hazel Moore journey on Instagram as she was getting married at same location as me so was excited to see her journey. After trying few other bridal shops, I decided that one last shop would be Sophia Grace, and I was so glad I did.
How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?
My experience at Sophia Grace was amazing before I went to my appointment, I was losing hope to find my perfect dress and I thought what did I have to lose by booking an appointment here. When my bridesmaids and I arrived, the girls were amazing they made me feel so special there was no rush they allowed us to have a look at dresses ourselves, nothing was of any trouble. Sophia Grace feels so special the whole experience is amazing the shop feels warm and cosy letting you stay in that bridal bubble that you want to be in as this is what every girl has been dreaming off.
Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown
I was your type of person who said no lace, nothing fancy, just plain. I was never the type of little girl who had dreamed of what my wedding dress would be like, in fact I never thought I would get married, so dress shopping was always going to be a fear of mine.
Where I went completely different plain was not for me. When I first tried on my dress I fell in love with every part of it, it made me feel so special it showed off my curves in the right places and I loved the idea of the cape where it gave me 2 looks throughout my day. As every bride says wish I could wear it again as it was so comfortable and I always love looking at pictures.
How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?
I met my husband through work, he says I stalked him, but I begged to differ.
The proposal was very out of the blue we had never spoke about it as I thought Iain never wanted to get married as he was before. It was my birthday and normally we are away for my birthday but this year we weren’t flying until after my birthday. So I was going for breakfast with my friend in the morning and on return Iain had sat out a card for me and inside the card it said now you better pack an overnight bag as we are going away tonight maybe do some shopping then it says please turn over and when I did it said only if you say YES. I’m not the brightest so I looked at Iain and went yes to what and he just looked and went what do you think hahaha. It was such an Iain way to do things, and I wouldn’t have changed it. We kept it quiet until we came back our holidays and it was so special being in our engagement bubble and no one knowing. Although Iain did use the fact that we had just got engaged to try for upgrades he failed lol.
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
I always said I did not want the big wedding I hate attention how that changed. The Lochside held so many memories for us and when we went to view this we continued to fall in love with the venue. We didn’t have any theme or colour just what ever went for us and what we both liked at the time which went well as everything was perfect.
What made you decide upon your chosen venue?
The Lochside Hotel and Spa had so many things which ticked the box. It was separate away from the other hotel guest and our wedding guest were all together. The different areas to celebrate in were amazing taken my breath away every time I was there and still do. Food was amazing and we always said we didn’t want guests to spend a fortune on drink which may sound silly but that plays a part of people enjoying their self without having to worry about the small things. Also, our wedding co-ordinator Kirsty and the rest of the staff was amazing nothing was of a bother to them they knew what to say to keep me calm and had us in fits of laughter. The whole experience they give you from start to finish is always 100%.
Tell us about your wedding
Our wedding was the best day ever and I know everyone says that, but I would not change a thing from moment I woke up to the moment I took my shoes off at night. I was taken shots of tequila rose before going down the aisle, pictures taken in the beautiful grounds, ice cream for our guests, dancing all day with big papas, surprising my husband with fireworks and ending the night with a saxophonist. All the planning, stress and worrying if everyone would enjoy the day disappeared when I see everyone enjoying themselves and even after this long people are still talking about all different moments that I forget although no one warns you about the wedding blues before your 1st anniversary I am currently hiding from the memories as I want to relive it all again although don’t think my husband wants to pay for it all again!
What was the most memorable moment?
I have loads of moments that are memorable. I surprised my husband with fireworks, and I don’t know how many times the secret nearly came out, but we done it and it was worth ever minute. I also won’t forget the comments and looks on everyone face when they seen me in my dress, I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt. My husband said he didn’t expect me to have a dress like the one I picked but WOW was his words.
Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?
Don’t be worried about visiting here the girls make you feel so at home, and nothing is of any trouble to them, go with an open mind try on something you want to try but your scared cause I did that, and I found my perfect dress.
