Wedding of Megan and Andrew
How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?
I found out about Sophia Grace Couture through my Maid of Honour/best friend Yasmin. She got her beautiful Enzoani gown from your store and I started following your Instagram after that I’m sure! I just knew I had to go here for my dress.
How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?
From my first interaction booking my appointment they were so attentive and took time to get to know me. Prior to my visit, they asked what style dresses I liked, this helped, as I had never been to try dresses on. From the moment I arrived with my mum and maid of honour the store looked luxurious, we were welcomed by Hannah who was so friendly, she made me and my mum feel so welcome and relaxed.
Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown
It must have been love at 1st sight without me realising! Once I’d bought the dress and when home I looked back at dresses, I had saved online that was one of them! I tried about 4/5 dresses on and I loved little bits of all of them. Hannah picked up on little things I was saying and said I think I might have what you’re looking for. Once I tried it on and looked in the mirror, I just knew it was perfect for me! I was what I wanted to look like as a bride!
How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?
I met my husband in one of our local pubs, my friends knew him from their school and we exchanged numbers. I always knew who he was and his name but we hadn’t met before that night. We started dating soon after and the rest is history. The proposal, we were on a Caribbean cruise and we were a beach called Magen’s Bay in St.Thomas, we walked along to a quiet secluded spot and he got down on one knee and proposed.
It was a complete surprise but the best kind!!
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
I found my venue on a bridal page online and then I used the venue to guide what I was thinking for the planning. I can’t explain how stunning the venue was, with a grand ballroom with vaulted ceilings and beautiful gardens. My guests thought it was very Bridgerton vibes. I knew I wanted sage green for my colour scheme for the girls, I think it’s such a universal colour that flatters everyone, and I made sure there was a little bit of green in the kilts to make sure it all tied in together.
What made you decide upon your chosen venue?
I picked my venue for the location and the ballroom. My husband and I love going up North, so it made sense to us to get married in the Highlands. With the gardens, the ballroom and the reception room, I absolutely love the whole vibe that Achnagairn has, it was my dream venue. And staff were absolutely amazing!
Tell us about your wedding
The wedding was amazing from start to finish, we got married in the ballroom and then the sun came out so we got to have lots of pictures outside. We had a violinist play for me walking down the aisle, I walked down the aisle to ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift and then we were piped out by our Piper Spud. We wanted a chill vibe for dinner so we had a BBQ which I think everyone enjoyed as they were in and out the building to enjoy the weather. We had a singer, a painter and casino games to keep our guests occupied while we were getting our pictures, which went down a treat, before we were back in the ballroom partying until the early hours dancing to Fyra.
What was the most memorable moment?
It’s hard to pick one thing! We just loved the whole vibe of the day, it felt like a real life fairytale and I felt like a princess all day.
Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?
I would 100% recommend everyone to go Sophia Grace Couture for their wedding. The selection of dresses were absolutely beautiful, I felt no pressure at all, and I just got support and advice from Hannah. She was so knowledgable and so lovely, my mum and bridesmaids thought she was wonderful too. It was so special to have the suite to yourself, I cannot recommend enough! Hannah made sure I tried on different styles so I had a good idea of what I wanted. It helped me realise my dress really was the one!
