How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I’d been searching online for bridal suites and came across Sophia grace couture. I loved the dresses on their website / instagram and knew this was where I wanted to start!

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

I loved my morning at Sophia Grace Couture. So many stunning dresses to choose from. It's a beautiful space and we were so well looked after. Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown I’d looked at some of the designers available at Sophia Grace Couture and knew there was one dress in particular I wanted to try, a dress by Enzoani. It was the first wedding dress I’d tried on and I knew straight away it was the one for me. My mum and best friend were in tears and then I started welling up so asked if i could try a veil with it! Of course i had to try on a few different ones just to make sure but nothing compared to the first one. That was my dress! No feeling like it!

How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

We met in 2018 on Tinder! We had our first date on a sunny day in Glasgow and never looked back! We were together for 3 years before the arrival of our little girl, Aria born in 2021. In July 2023, Stuart surprised me with a trip to Lisbon for my 40th birthday. He took me to watch the sunrise and proposed in front of Belem tower. He had arranged a photographer to take candid photos of the proposal so we have some amazing pictures from the moment!

What was your inspiration for your wedding?

Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette? I run a vintage clothing shop so knew I wanted a vintage style. I love pampas grass and choose burnt orange for my bridesmaids. We wanted a 70s disco style with vinyl records and disco balls!

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

We decided to have a destination wedding and after having 3 holidays in Portugal and our engagement happening in Lisbon it meant sense to choose Portugal! We loved the idea of being married on a cliff top and then having a beach party with all of our friends and family and it couldn’t have been more perfect! A joyful, magical day filled with love!

Tell us about your wedding!

We were married on 12th September 2024 on a cliff top in the Algarve! It was a perfect sunny day and a true celebration joining our two families. We had an intimate meal at a restaurant set into the cliff and a beach party in the evening. A bag piper piped us on to the beach after the ceremony and we danced the night away on the sand! It was magical!

What was the most memorable moment?

Seeing all of our family and friends smiling and laughing and having a ball was a moment I'll cherish forever. I've never felt a feeling of joy like it.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

Have an idea of what you'd like to try before going in as seeing so many dresses can be overwhelming. But also have an open mind... the girls are amazing and will advise you of dresses you might have overlooked.
