Wedding of Jody and Jack

How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?

I live locally and loved the look and vibe of the store, and I had seen people I know find their dress here!

How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?

Experience was great, It was good to get the stylists ideas and we also had everyone with me pick a dress that they thought would suit me to try on. Pairing the experience with some fizz was a fun day out for everyone!

When I decided to visit Sophia Grace I was 3 months pregnant but I knew I wanted to find my dress before having my baby rather than after as I didn’t want to feel pressure. I picked my dress 1.5 years ahead of my wedding and was worried it was too far in advance but I loved my dress on the day as much as I did when I first tried it on in store.

Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown

I chose the Wona Concept dress as I liked the corset style on the top half and how it hugged my figure (risky move knowing I would only be 11 months postpartum on the day, but it all worked out perfectly!!)

How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?

I met Jack at work 6 years ago, I only agreed to a date as I knew he was leaving to work for the police and he now works opposite Sophia Grace! Jack proposed in Bali (my favourite place) during a private beach dinner with no one else around as he knows I’d get embarrassed - he got it just right!

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

We knew from day 1 that we would get married abroad and that’s when we decided on Cyprus - we love a holiday so it was the only right thing to do. It felt so ‘us’. The theme was champagne gold / roses and gypsophila it was the most stunning setting.

What made you decide upon your chosen venue?

When deciding to get married abroad we knew we did not want to get married in a hotel so picked this venue as it was an exclusive venue.

Tell us about your wedding

Everything went to plan and not one thing went wrong on the day. We had 70 guests fly over to Cyprus for 11 days so it felt like an 11 day wedding it was amazing, and I highly recommend anyone considering to get married abroad to do it!

What was the most memorable moment?

Everything, but having our daughter with us on the day made it special. Jack held her whilst I walked down the aisle so that is something I will always picture.

Do you have any advice for future brides visiting Sophia Grace Couture?

Have fun and don’t feel overwhelmed by the thought of having to try on hundreds of dresses from numerous stores, you will know when you have found the one.
